Our Mission
We are professional doula provide birth and postpartum doula services to low income families, women in the foster care system, mothers in homeless shelters, pregnant teenagers, survivors of sexual trafficking and expecting women in the criminal justice system. We collaborate with agencies with maternal-child health programs and social service providers to improve the quality of birth, breastfeeding, and baby care. We strive to empower women to get the care they desire, to educate and accompany families before, during and after the birth of their child, providing doula care free of charge for those families who are in need. In the United states 3 women die each day from from pregnancy related complications. The majority are low income women of color. With the help of a doula we can improve these outcomes. Benefits of Doula Support According to studies by Kennell and Klaus et al., doula support (professional labor companion support) is associated with fewer cesarean sections, decreased rates of induction and pain medication use, shorter labors, and decreased postpartum depression and improved maternal-infant interaction and breastfeeding initiation. |
Nuestra Misión
Colaborar con los organismos con los programas de salud materno-infantil y proveedores de servicios sociales para mejorar la calidad de nacimiento, la lactancia materna y el cuidado del bebé. Para que las mujeres puedan recibir la atención que desean, para educar y acompañar a las familias antes, durante y después del nacimiento de su hijo, proporcionar atención doula gratuita para las familias que están en necesidad. Promover noble cuna, y apoyar a las familias gestantes mediante el apoyo informativo, físico y emocional. Las doulas son mujeres, en su mayoría madres, que acompañan a otras mujeres durante en el camino a la maternidad. Su labor fundamental es dar soporte, tanto físico como emocional, durante el parto y el puerperio. |

Evidence shows that the most important thing is for women to have continuous labor support from someone– whether that person is a nurse, midwife, partner, or doula. However, with several birth outcomes, doulas have a stronger effect than other types of support persons.
