Why We Serve
In the USA 3 women die each day from childbirth complications. The majority are low income women of color.
These are the women and families we serve. Our clientele is disproportionately impacted by a real crisis in the maternal health of the United States. Inconsistent care likely contributes to racial disparities in maternal health outcomes often resulting in unnecessary interventions, discrimination, and higher rates of complications in vaginal deliveries. The rates for complication for cesarean births increases five-fold.

"I was very determined to have an all natural labor with no medication , I couldn't have done it without the help of Jessica. She is the best doula I could have had! I'm glad I had her as a doula. From walking to massaging she helped me through my whole labor I highly recommend her to any soon to be mother . :)"

Our Goals |
We have three primary goals:
*Our doulas receive no payment for their services and spend a minimum of 20 hours per client. With your help we'd like to change that, please help us sustain our professional volunteer doulas with an expenses reimbursement fund.
|
"Our clients tend to be socially isolated and very low income women; being able to link them with volunteer doulas for support during the birth of their babies has been incredibly valuable. The doulas have demonstrated great compassion and sensitivity for our clients both before and after the births of their babies. "
